School Days....

We are in full "school" mode now. The girls are adjusting really well to their new schedules and are both loving their new classes & teachers.

Shelby is in first grade this year (I know, it's so hard to believe!!). She is in Mrs. Ralph's class at school and is already learning a lot. I spent time in her class this morning as a parent volunteer. I have wanted to be able to do this for a whole year and I really do love it. Shelby likes being able to show off and share her mom with her school friends. I really like the way that Mrs. Ralph teaches. She is very energetic and does lots of fun activities with the kids that helps them learn their lessons.

Shelby got her first homework assignment today - a timeline of her life. She has to make a timeline on posterboard and it has to include neat writing and pictures. We are going to start out by picking out the things she wants on her timeline and then we will find pictures to go with them. Once we have those things done, then we'll go pick out her posterboard. Thankfully, she have two weeks to do this, but I'm hoping that she'll have it done by early next week. We'll post pictures of it once she gets it done.

Gracie's class is learning about animals this month. She's learned about hippos, lions and giraffes since last Thursday. We really like her teacher, Ms. Jamie. Gracie's only going half days this year and it's been really cool to have a little time with just her.

This year is sure to be a busy year, but it's looking very promising too!
